GP Award Scheme launched by Princess Royal Trust for Carers

To raise GP’s awareness about the need to identify and support carers, the Princess Royal Trust for Carers has created the Caring about Carers Award for GP’s. There will be a winner for each home nation and an overall UK-wide winner.

To be eligible for an award, GP’s must be nominated by a patient, so if you would like to nominate an excellent GP or practice team for an award, simply send in the name and address of your GP practice, including your GP’s name if you wish to nominate a particular doctor, along with a sentence or two that says why your GP or practice deserves an award for their support for carers.

Nominations can be emailed to: or posted to:

Caring About Carers Award 2010, The Royal College of General Practitioners, 14 Princes Gate, Hyde Park, London, SW7 1PU

The deadline for nominations is 11 June 2010.
