Words of encouragement & increasing funds inspire Jo’s training as the going gets tough

I would like to thank everyone who has been so generous in sponsoring me for the Snowdonia Marathon on 30th October. Over £700 has been raised so far, a fantastic start to the fundraising.

All monies raised will be used to provide support to carers in the Vale of Glamorgan and their dependent relatives who suffer with dementia.

The training is going well, and I am now doing weekly 11 and 12 mile runs, and lots of hill training. For those of you familiar with the Cardiff area, I have been pounding up and down Caerphilly Mountain and the Wenallt. Three cheers for the staff at the Traveller’s Rest for kindly refilling my water bottle, and to the guy who gave me some encouragement as I was plodding up through Rhiwbina! By the end of August my long Saturday run will reach a distance of 18 miles, and I will be taking part in the Glasgow Half Marathon on 5th September.

Thanks to everyone who has passed on messages of encouragement via email, text, or on Facebook. Your support makes a huge difference and is helping to keep me motivated.
