I would like to thank everyone who has sponsored me so far to run the Snowdonia Marathon at the end of October. I am delighted to tell you that today the amount raised reached £1,000.
This is a fantastic start to the fundraising, and will go a long way to helping carers of relatives with dementia in the Vale of Glamorgan. The funds will be used to provide a break for carers in the form of events and outings, and some of the monies may also go towards a much-needed minibus to transport those with dementia to our day centre at Bryneithin in Dinas Powys.

The biggest challenge I’m facing at the moment is trying to find hills steep enough and long enough on which to train. No hill in Cardiff or the Vale of Glamorgan is going to compare with the horrendous climbs I’ll be facing in Snowdonia.
The Wenallt and Caerphilly Mountain have become familiar stomping grounds, and as the distance of my long weekend runs has increased, I’ve begun running from Cardiff to Penarth to tackle Custom House Hill and the many hills leading up from the seafront.
