Marathon sponsorship reaches £1,000 and gives a huge boost to carer support

On behalf of everyone at Crossroads Care in the Vale I would like to thank everyone who has sponsored me so far to run the Snowdonia Marathon at the end of October. I am delighted to tell you that today the amount raised reached £1,000.

This is a fantastic start to the fundraising, and will go a long way to helping carers of relatives with dementia in the Vale of Glamorgan. The funds will be used to provide a break for carers in the form of events and outings, and some of the monies may also go towards a much-needed minibus to transport those with dementia to our day centre at Bryneithin in Dinas Powys.

If you haven’t yet sponsored me, I would be very grateful if you would consider doing so. Everyone’s generosity so far is certainly motivating me during those tough hill training sessions and long runs. Having completed two fourteen mile training runs, I will be attempting 16 miles this Sunday. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for fine weather…
