Dementia Memory Walk Raising Funds and Spirits

The Alzheimer’s Society is inviting people across the UK to join in their local Memory Walk to raise funds for those affected by dementia.

People join together for Memory Walk every September. Some walk to be amongst people who truly understand. Some walk in remembrance of loved ones. All walk with one common goal: fighting dementia.

In Cardiff, a walk will take place on Sunday 18th September 2011, beginning in Bute Park at 11.30am. There will be two walk options available: the three mile walk will pass Bute Park Arboretum with its rare and ornamental trees, Sophia Gardens which is home to Glamorgan Cricket Club, then follow the River Taff back to Cardiff Castle; the ten mile walk will take in even more areas of Bute Park. It is free to enter and everyone who takes part will receive a t-shirt.

The Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading support services and research charity for people with dementia and their carers. The money raised through Memory Walk will help the Society to provide local support services.
