Dyffryn Gardens event a crowd puller in Carers’ Week 2012

Gill Gapski leads an ‘Extend’ session

Carers throughout the Vale of Glamorgan spent a fun and informative day at Dyffryn Gardens on 19th June to mark Carers’ Week 2012.

The annual event, held in the marquee and Cory Centre, has always proved popular with carers. It provides an opportunity to meet representatives from caring organisations; find out about available support services; and take advantage of therapies such as Indian Head Massage and Reflexology.
This year, carers were able to enjoy a taster session of ‘Extend’ exercise, have their portrait painted, and enjoy a guided walk in the beautiful gardens of Dyffryn House, soon to be taken over by the National Trust. Musical entertainment accompanied a buffet lunch.
Thanks must go to Nicola Hale and James Livingstone of the Vale of Glamorgan Council, and to representatives of the many organisations and charities who helped organise the event and attended on the day. Thanks, also, to the staff of Dyffryn Gardens for making this carers’ support day possible.
