Meet the team

Crossroads Care in the Vale really does feel like a family. Our jobs are fascinating, busy, with lots of challenges and lots of smiles. We’re there to help each other, just as we’re there for people in our communities who need support. So … say hello the Crossroads Care in the Vale family

Fiona Guthrie Fiona Guthrie

Under Fiona’s leadership, Crossroads Care in the Vale has gone from strength to strength since her arrival as Care Manager in 2002 and, since 2006, as Scheme Manager.

She brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role and has built a team that prides itself on making a real difference to people’s lives. In her spare time Fiona enjoys walking her dogs and has a passion for cooking.

Norma PurserNorma Purser

Norma has been working for the Scheme since it was first established in 1987, and is the Care Coordinator for the Eastern Vale. Norma’s extensive knowledge of the area’s services has been of huge benefit over the years.

Norma’s time outside the office is enjoyed with her husband, children and four grandchildren, who all live locally.

Elizabeth BrownElizabeth Brown

Elizabeth has almost two decades’ experience of working with Crossroads Care, and is currently the Care Coordinator for the Western Vale. Practical and highly organised, Elizabeth was once described by a carer as a “real can-do lady”.

In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys Nordic Walking and Pilates.

Alexis CampbellAlexis Campbell

Before joining the office-based team at Crossroads Care in the Vale, Alexis worked extensively in the community, providing care to many older people with dementia.

Her experience and dedication have proved invaluable since Alexis became Deputy Care Coordinator for the Eastern Vale in 2007, especially taking on the responsibility of the out-of-hours support service.

Outside work, Alexis is a keen gardener and also enjoys walking her Jack Russell, Flash.

Tina TipplesTina Tipples

Tina gained much valuable experience as a Crossroads Care Worker in the community before becoming Deputy Coordinator for the Western Vale in 2008.

The skills Tina acquired while supporting our elderly clients with dementia, in particular her sensitivity, have enhanced her office-based role and she’s now a key team member.

When not in the office, Tina helps her husband with his computer business.

Jo HendryJo Hendry

Jo has been with the Scheme since 2005, providing a counselling service for carers, organising and facilitating staff training, and running social and support groups for carers and their dependent relatives.

In her spare time Jo enjoys reading fiction, running and working out at the gym, and has completed a marathon and a cycle ride from North to South Wales to raise funds for Crossroads Care.

Alyson AtkinsonAlyson Atkinson

Alyson has been responsible for the Scheme’s payroll and invoicing since 2002. Alyson enjoys working with her colleagues and meeting new people, and she frequently attends local carers’ events to promote Crossroads Care’s services.

For relaxation Alyson enjoys swimming and making her own jewellery, and recently ran a successful jewellery-making session for carers.

Helen FarrHelen Farr

Helen initially joined Crossroads Care in the Vale as a volunteer in 1999, before taking on the role of part-time Administration Clerk two years later.

Helen’s admin skills are invaluable and she often takes on additional tasks to help colleagues. A real action woman, Helen is a volunteer for Oxfam, has been involved with the Girl Guide Movement for over twenty years and is a member of the Llandough and Dinas Powys branch of the Trefoil Guild.

Helen ‘reluctantly’ goes to exercise classes to keep fit and enjoys Tai Chi for relaxation.
